Not loading, stuck on sign-in, feed frozen, notifications silent — here are the eight most effective fixes for every common TeaSpill issue, in order of how fast they work.
TeaSpill is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — which means it runs in your browser rather than through an app store. This gives it advantages (instant updates, no download required, works on every device) but also means browser-specific issues can occasionally affect performance. The good news: almost every problem is fixable in under two minutes.
Fix 1.Hard Refresh the Page
On Chrome/Windows: hold Ctrl + Shift + R
On Chrome/Mac: hold Cmd + Shift + R
On Safari/iPhone: hold the refresh button → Reload Without Content Blockers
Why this works: TeaSpill is a PWA. Browsers cache aggressively, which means you may be running an older version of the app. A hard refresh forces the browser to pull the latest version from the server.
Fix 2.Clear Your Browser Cache
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data → Cached images and files
Safari iPhone: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Why this works: Corrupted or stale cache files can prevent the app from loading correctly, especially after an update. Clearing the cache forces a clean load.
Fix 3.Try a Different Browser
If using Safari, try Chrome
If using Chrome, try Firefox or Edge
Make sure your browser is up to date — outdated browsers may not support PWA features
Why this works: Browser-specific bugs occasionally affect how TeaSpill loads or behaves. Switching browsers isolates whether the issue is browser-side or app-side.
Fix 4.Check Your Internet Connection
Try loading another website to confirm you have internet
Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or vice versa)
If on public Wi-Fi, some networks block PWA functionality
Why this works: TeaSpill requires a live connection for feed updates, voting, and posting. A weak or intermittent connection causes the feed to stall or posts to fail silently.
Fix 5.Re-verify Your Phone Number
If login is failing, request a new verification code
Make sure you're using the same phone number you signed up with
Check your SMS inbox — verification codes expire after 10 minutes
Why this works: Login sessions occasionally expire, especially if you haven't used the app for several weeks. Re-verifying re-establishes your session.
Fix 6.Remove and Re-add the Home Screen Icon
If using the PWA icon on your home screen, delete it
Go back to teaspill.co in your browser

The new icon will point to the updated PWA version
Why this works: Home screen PWA icons sometimes cache their launch URL. Removing and re-adding forces the icon to use the current app version.
Fix 7.Disable Extensions and Ad Blockers
Try opening teaspill.co in a private/incognito window (which disables most extensions)
If it works in private mode, an extension is the issue
Whitelist teaspill.co in your ad blocker settings
Why this works: Certain ad blockers and privacy extensions block PWA functionality or the real-time connections TeaSpill uses for live voting updates.
Fix 8.Wait and Try Again
Check TeaSpill's social media (Instagram, TikTok) for any maintenance announcements
If an update is being deployed, there may be a few minutes of reduced functionality
Try again after 5–10 minutes
Why this works: Very occasionally, a planned update or infrastructure change may cause temporary loading issues. These are resolved quickly and are always announced in advance.

If none of the above fixes resolve your issue, it is most likely one of two things: a temporary maintenance window (check social media for announcements) or a very unusual device-specific compatibility issue. In either case, try again in 30 minutes from a different device. The community will still be there.
