Our Approach to Safety

Safety is not a feature at TeaSpill. It is the foundation. Every design decision, every policy, every line of code is written with one question first: does this protect the women in this space?

Anonymity as Protection

We believe anonymity is a safety tool, not a loophole. When a woman can speak without fear of being identified, she can tell the truth about her life. We protect that anonymity at the infrastructure level — not just the interface level. We do not sell, share, or expose identifying data under any circumstance.

Proactive Moderation

Our AI safety layer scans all content in real time for patterns associated with harassment, coercion, grooming, and self-harm. Flagged content is reviewed by a human Sister Moderator within minutes, 24 hours a day.

Sister Moderators

All moderators are women. They are trained in trauma-informed communication, crisis response, and community mediation. Moderators do not have access to user identity data — only the content of the flagged interaction.

Zero Tolerance

We have zero tolerance for content that targets women with hate, sexualises minors, promotes eating disorders or self-harm, facilitates stalking or tracking, or attempts to unmask anonymous users. Violations result in immediate and permanent removal.

Our Safety Team

Our Trust & Safety team is a dedicated, full-time group within TeaSpill. They set policy, review escalations, partner with external organisations, and publish a quarterly transparency report on moderation actions taken across the platform.
