Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026. TeaSpill is built on the principle that your privacy is not a trade-off. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

What We Collect

Device information (type, OS version, app version) for technical support and crash reporting.

Usage data (which rooms you visit, how long sessions last) in aggregate and anonymised form only.

Content you post (Spill Cards, messages) which is stored encrypted and is never linked to a persistent user identity.

Email address — only if you choose to create an account for Premium billing purposes.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your real name. We do not collect your phone number unless you choose to provide it for account recovery. We do not collect location data. We do not build behavioural profiles for advertising. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising SDKs.

How We Use Your Data

To operate and improve the TeaSpill service. To enforce our community guidelines and keep the space safe. To process Premium subscription payments through our encrypted payment provider. To send service-related communications if you have provided an email.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Ever. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing. We may share data with law enforcement only when compelled by a valid legal order, and only the minimum information required by that order. We will notify you of any such request where legally permitted.

Data Retention

Anonymous session data is deleted at the end of each session. Spill Cards are retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted unless reported content requires preservation for a moderation review. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, request its correction, request its deletion, and object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@teaspill.co.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the app to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
