Fake Tea App Invites & Scams:
How to Spot and Avoid Them
As TeaSpill grows, so do attempts to impersonate it. Fake invite links, phishing sites, and copycat groups are targeting women looking to join the real community. Here's how to tell them apart.
The only real TeaSpill is at teaspill.co
Always verify the URL before entering any information. Any other domain is not TeaSpill.
Why TeaSpill Is a Target for Impersonation
Women-only spaces are disproportionately targeted for infiltration and impersonation. The reasons vary: men trying to access a community specifically designed to exclude them, people trying to collect data on women who speak openly about dating experiences, and opportunistic phishing using a trusted brand name.
TeaSpill does not use an invite system โ which means any link claiming to be an "exclusive TeaSpill invite" is not real. The real TeaSpill is open to any verified woman at teaspill.co directly, no invite required.
7 Signs You're Looking at a Fake
The link doesn't go to teaspill.co
The only real TeaSpill URL is teaspill.co. Variations like tea-spill.co, teaspillapp.com, or teaspill.net are not real. Check the URL bar every time.
It asks for your email, password, or payment details at sign-up
TeaSpill sign-up only requires a phone number for SMS verification. If you are asked for an email, a password, a credit card, or any payment, you are not on the real TeaSpill.
It promises 'exclusive' or 'VIP' access through a link
TeaSpill does not have invite-only tiers, VIP rooms, or exclusive access links. Anyone claiming to offer you special access through a private link is not affiliated with TeaSpill.
The invite came from a man
TeaSpill is a women-only community. A man sending you a TeaSpill invite link is at minimum suspicious โ and in most cases is an attempt to gain access to the community or gather information about who is using it.
The app store listing looks different from what you expected
TeaSpill is not in the App Store or Google Play. Any app store listing claiming to be TeaSpill is not the real app.
The 'app' asks you to download an APK file
Never install apps from APK files sent by strangers. These can contain malware. The real TeaSpill installs as a PWA directly from teaspill.co โ no APK needed.
The 'community' has mixed-gender content or male moderators
If you join a group claiming to be TeaSpill and find male participants, male moderators, or content that contradicts TeaSpill's women-only mission โ leave immediately. It is a fake.
What to Do If You've Encountered a Fake
Do not enter any personal information on the fake site
Close the tab or leave the group immediately
If you have already entered information (phone number, email), monitor your accounts for unusual activity
Report the fake link or account to the platform it appeared on (Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.)
If you received the link from a named individual, block that individual on all platforms
Report the fake to TeaSpill directly through our official social media channels so we can take action
How to Verify You're on the Real TeaSpill
Three checks, every time:
- The URL in your browser address bar should read exactly: teaspill.co (or https://teaspill.co)
- Sign-up asks only for a phone number โ nothing else
- The community is entirely women, all anonymous, with no real names displayed
If all three are true, you're on the real TeaSpill. If any one of them fails, leave and go directly to teaspill.co in a fresh browser tab.
Protecting the Community
The security of the TeaSpill community depends on every member knowing how to spot and report impersonation. When you encounter a fake TeaSpill link, account, or group โ please report it. Not just to protect yourself, but to protect the women who might encounter the same link next.
The real lounge is right here.
