How to Delete Your
TeaSpill Account (2026)
Whether you're taking a break, moving on, or want your data removed — here's exactly how to delete your account, what it means for your data, and what you should consider first.
Before You Delete: Consider Taking a Break Instead
TeaSpill accounts have no activity requirement. If you simply stop logging in, your account remains exactly as you left it — indefinitely. There are no inactivity penalties, no subscription to cancel, and no notifications you didn't opt into. If you're leaving because you need space from the content, simply don't open the app. Your account will be there when (and if) you want to return.
If you want to reduce notifications without deleting: go to your profile settings → Notifications → turn off all or specific notification types. You can also remove the PWA from your home screen without affecting your account.
How to Delete Your TeaSpill Account
Open TeaSpill at teaspill.co and log in with your phone number
Tap your persona icon or avatar in the top corner to open your profile
Scroll to the bottom of your profile settings
Tap 'Account' or 'Privacy & Account'
Select 'Delete Account'
Read the deletion summary — it explains what will be removed
Tap 'Confirm Delete' or enter your verification code if prompted
Your account is deleted. The process is immediate and irreversible.
What Happens to Your Data
Your persona and profile
Deleted immediately. Your persona name and avatar are removed and cannot be recovered.
Your posts
Posts become anonymous — no longer associated with your persona. The community record may retain the content without your identity attached, as anonymised community data.
Your votes and reactions
Removed from your account record. Aggregate vote counts on posts may not change, as individual vote attribution is not stored.
Your phone number
Removed from all TeaSpill systems within the data deletion window per our privacy policy. It is no longer associated with any record in the platform.
Your UPDATE notifications
Any active UPDATE subscriptions are immediately cancelled. You will not receive further notifications.
Can You Come Back After Deleting?
Yes. You can create a new TeaSpill account at any time using the same phone number. You will start fresh — new persona, new feed, no previous posts or history. This is by design: TeaSpill's privacy architecture does not link new accounts to previous deleted accounts.
If you plan to return, consider taking a break instead of deleting — your history, your UPDATE subscriptions, and your community reputation come with you when you return to an existing account.
Data Privacy Concerns
TeaSpill's privacy architecture is designed around minimal data collection. Your phone number is used only for verification and is not stored in a format that connects it to your activity data. Deleting your account triggers deletion of all personally identifiable information per our privacy policy at teaspill.co/privacy.
